Lung Health Check

What to expect next?

You may have received a text message confirming your practice participation in the Lung Health Check- No action is required from you at this time.

You will not need to register for the Lung Health Check. We will issue you a letter over the coming weeks with a time and date for a phone call. During this call, you will be asked if you wish to consent to participate. You can choose to opt out at any stage.

You will also be asked some questions to determine if you are eligible to participate. If you are eligible, further details will be provided regarding the time and date for the FREE CT at one of four locations.

During May and into June, you will be further notified of Community Engagement Evenings. These sessions will allow you to gain knowledge from experts in the field of lung health from RCSI, Beaumont Hospital, and the Irish Cancer Society. We encourage those who are invited to attend these one-hour sessions.

Centric Health will continue to communicate with you and will make regular updates to this webpage.

Centric Health Partners in Ireland's First Mobile Lung Health Check Pilot

Centric Health is thrilled to announce its collaboration with Beaumont Hospital and RCSI on Ireland's first mobile Lung Health Check, a groundbreaking pilot programme funded by the Irish Cancer Society and supported by the EU4Health SOLACE consortium.

In partnership with Beaumont Hospital and the RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Centric Health GP practices in North Dublin and the North East region are actively engaged in delivering this innovative initiative.

The Lung Health Check aims to identify individuals at higher risk of lung problems and invites them to participate in comprehensive screenings. These screenings include breathing tests and a low-dose chest CT scan, all conducted conveniently in a mobile unit within the community.

This initiative is part of a €4.9 million lung cancer research programme, led by the Beaumont RCSI Cancer Centre and funded by the Irish Cancer Society—the largest single investment in lung cancer research in Ireland's history.
