Financial Controller, Centric Health

Contract: Permanent Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday- Friday, 9am-6pm
Location: Dundrum, Dublin 16

Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will work closely with the Head of Finance to provide effective leadership and support across the Finance Department and at a high level this will include:

· Leading a diverse team of finance professionals

· Ensuring the delivery of the Finance & Accounting team’s reporting output on time and to a high standard of quality

· Being the lead liaison with external auditors to ensure an efficient audit process with a clean audit opinion

· Ensuring continuous statutory tax and reporting compliance

· Overseeing an effective internal controls environment across the organisation

· Management of cash resources to ensure continuous ability to meet financial commitments while delivering optimal working capital performance

· Acting a Business Partner to Central Support Department Leads in managing their expenditure, including review and approval of corporate payroll

· Co-ordination of the annual budgeting and forecasting process

· Ad-hoc support to the Head of Finance in delivering an excellent Finance support service


Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Support

- Provide leadership, mentorship and support across the Accounting team, embedding a culture of responsibility, accountability & fairness, that will support our Partners and Employees in taking effective ownership of the services they provide

- Support change management initiatives by positively engaging and empowering teams to get the buy-in of key stakeholders

- Work to ensure that staffing levels & skill sets are optimised to support existing and new service, including support for the development of team members

- Drive a culture of the “Internal Professional Services Firm” among the Accounting team

- Act as a close support to the Head of Finance in leading the team and delivering an excellent service across the organisation


Financial Reporting

- Completion of consolidated group monthly and annual accounts within agreed timelines

- Co-ordinate and manage the month-end close process, from inputs through to outputs, identifying delays and resolving them in a timely fashion

- Manage and maintain the General Ledger to ensure set ups and rules are consistent throughout the various companies in the group

- Ensure task allocation across the finance team remains well-balanced in a continuously growing organisation

- Review financial reports with Central Support Department Leads (HR/IT/Quality etc.) helping them to understand results and take appropriate actions, if required


Cash Management

- Manage the cash resources of the company to ensure continued ability to meet financial obligations while optimising working capital performance

- Preparation of weekly and monthly cash forecasts for review with the Head of Finance

- Manage the debt facilities of the group to ensure timely drawdown of funds while minimising interest costs

- Ensure compliance with financial covenants and reporting requirements under our debt facilities


Budgeting & Forecasting

- Co-ordinate the annual budget process and present consolidated financial summaries of key trends and movements

- Produce re-forecasts during the year as required

- Contribute to long-term corporate forecasts

- Ad-hoc forecasting to support decisions (scenario analysis, modelling etc.)


Statutory & Tax Compliance

- Co-ordinate the annual statutory audit and act as lead contact for external auditors

- Ensure team members are adequately prepared for audit and respond in a timely manner to audit queries to ensure efficient audit process

- Ensure internal control environment is maintained to a high standard so that external auditors can rely on it for audit comfort

- Ensure tax compliance and timely tax filings

- Support the Company Secretary in ensuring CRO filings are made in a timely fashion


Position Requirements:

- Qualified accountant ( 3+ years PQE) with Big 4 experience in a dynamic environment (preferably in Industry) looking to move into an exciting next stage of their career

- Strong communicator with experience of leading teams

- Sound knowledge of FRS102 and corporate legislation around statutory financial reporting

- Excellent knowledge and experience of best-in-class internal controls

- Skills in process mapping and process improvement

- Ability to extract, understand and interpret data to drive change

- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines while being professional planned and organised. A problem solver and able to deal with several tasks simultaneously

- Ability to work in a team and or on one’s own initiative as required

- Strong IT skills (Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Outlook) with an ability to learn systems quickly and to trouble shoot effectively
